About Yachad

Yachad, a program of the Orthodox Union, is a thriving global organization dedicated to enriching the lives of Jewish individuals with disabilities and their families, by enhancing their communal participation and their connection to Judaism through social and educational programs and support services. Our values begin with Torah, and we believe that every Jew deserves to feel a sense of belonging in the community. Our programs are designed through an inclusive lens, with the aim of ensuring this sense of belonging. Yachad runs social programs across the United States, Israel and Canada year-round. Yachad supports many hundreds of Jewish individuals with disabilities in our summer camps/programs. In addition, Yachad runs a special education school system in New York- IVDU and adult day programs in New York and New Jersey.



Position Summary

The Director of Marketing, in collaboration with other senior Yachad executives, will develop and implement the annual marketing campaign to raise brand awareness within the Orthodox Jewish community, increase revenue, and program participation for Yachad. This person will be expected to be a strategic thinker, an effective communicator who can influence peers, be the go-to-resource for effective marketing campaigns and is someone that works well under pressure and with tight deadlines. This person is self-motivated and will bring expertise and broad experience across various marketing channels (social, digital, print, etc.).



Primary Responsibilities

Provide overall marketing leadership, represent and champion the Yachad brand while effectively guiding the strategy and execution of marketing campaigns.
Lead strategic marketing plan development to quantifiably achieve objectives, including but not limited to fundraising, engagement, and brand awareness.
Partner collaboratively with senior Yachad leadership to develop an annual marketing calendar to optimize marketing offerings and to promote efficiency.
Develop relationships with partners and vendors, both internal and external, working within a budget to deliver high quality and timely materials.
Independently lead and make decisions that balance the needs of the program/project with internal priorities, expectations and requirements.
Provide guidance and oversight to others with responsibilities that impact the broader marketing campaign/strategy.
Develop, own and promote compliance with best practices to elevate the quality of outputs and to protect the organization’s reputation.
Promote executional excellence across all marketing outputs
This person must be an integrated marketer with expertise across digital, social media, direct marketing, email marketing, paid media and event marketing and engage across the organization in that capacity
Reports to International Director; dotted line reporting responsibility to the Chief Marketing Officer of the OU.
Is a member of the Yachad Executive Team

Prior Experience, Competencies and Skills Required



Eight (8) + years’ experience in an advertising agency client service role or similar in-house marketing leadership role
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Have an innate understanding of service, with the abilities of communication, advocacy and persuasion essential to ensuring satisfaction across departments.
Proficient in setting and managing expectations, vertically as well as horizontally
Ability to see the big picture with sufficient detail-orientation to bring ideas to fruition
A leader who can instill confidence, wield influence and foster collaboration
Excellent writing and presentation skills necessary for achieving the desired outcomes when influencing a group of non-marketing peers/clients

Proficient in software such as MS Office and collaboration tools; proficient in software necessary for channel-specific success (e.g., Google Analytics, CMS platforms, ESP platforms, etc.)
